Staff Baltimore Business Journal U.S. banks seized more U.S. homes in May as a greater number of Americans found themselves entering the foreclosure process, Reuters reported, citing findings from RealtyTrac. Banks repossessed 38,946 homes, an increase of 11 percent from the previous month. As Reuters noted, the housing market has been on the upswing, which means lenders are willing to seize distressed loans that have been sitting in limbo for some time so the houses can be put on the market.
