Staff Baltimore Business Journal President Barack Obama's labor secretary, Thomas E. Perez, is receiving praise from unions and wariness from business groups, the Baltimore Sun reported. Perez is the former head of the Maryland's labor department. He joined Obama's cabinet at a time when it is considering new regulations that could affect pay and working conditions for millions of Americans, from stonecutters to home health care workers.
